This house was newly built construction in the Midway Hollow neighborhood of Dallas. In addition to the generic finish selections included in the purchase, the actual construction had some deficiencies that the builder did not remedy. We were enlisted to address these details as well as to furnish the home in the style of this loving family.
Our team, led by Megan Fornes, learned how this family envisioned using the spaces of the home and re-imagined the identity of some of the rooms. The formal living room became the formal dining, the formal living because a casual gathering space. The seating area outside of the kitchen is now an excellent space for coffee and conversations amongst the four occupants of the home. The master bath entry was re-fitted and the suite furnished to provide a retreat for the parents at the end of a long day and allllll of the light fixtures in the main living areas were updated.
Using a neutral palette and organically inspired materials created a space that reflected the lifestyle and the aesthetics that the client desired: California living meets Texas hospitality. The family of four (and Sailor, the dog) enjoy the light, bright, neutral palette their home welcomes them with every day.
