An Interior Designer’s Guide to Creating a Fantastic Christmas Table
There is still time to plan a festive table for Christmas before the family sits down for dinner. So hold on to your seats, I plan to take you beyond fine china this holiday season. It’s time to get creative! Here is my curated list of elegant, fun and unique tablescape ideas that will wow guests. Check it out!
1. Think Outside of the Box.
Tired of the same old, same old? Don’t be afraid to mix it up with a bit of modern edge. To keep it holiday friendly and elegant, add ornaments or paper trees. Find a fun tutorial here.
2. Traditional Colors, Funky Finds!
Mix traditional colors with funky and unique elements to blow guests away. The above picture is a perfect example. The best part about a table like this is it makes for an amazing conversation piece.
3. Let it Snow!
A dreamy blue and white table is always a timeless showstopper and super simple to create. All you need is some fake snow, pretty candles and preferably some frosted trees or branches. Check out my Christmas Pinterest Board for some fun tips and tricks – there’s even a tutorial on creating iced branches for centerpieces.
4. Use Unconventional Color.
OK, so pink and black MAY be out of your comfort zone, but if you are looking for something a bit less traditional, changing up your color scheme is the perfect way to do it. Mix things up by going with a lighter shade of green, or a dark elegant blue. Let the color reflect your unique style, and your homes personality.
5. Be Yourself.
When guests walk into your home, you want them to look around and say, “wow, this is so you!” It is always important that your personality is reflected in your decor. If you love old Christmas traditions and colors, go with that. There are plenty of ways to sprinkle in some fun with your traditional Christmas tablescape.
