I’m not talking about your grandma’s wallpaper, y’all. This Friday Fave is hot and getting hotter. Today I’m sharing my love of this textile – even in my own house.
We enjoy using wallpaper to create a statement because sometimes paint just doesn’t do “enough”. In this short video, I share some of my current favorite styles and colors – including my current crush. I just used it in my own master bath remodel.
So whether you need a hint of metallic or a grasscloth texture on the wall, there are so many gorgeous products available to create a beautiful feature.
The design feature has come a long way since ivy vines and faux trellis patterns were the rage. Yes, I actually had ivy vines “flowing” throughout an entryway in a home I had in California a couple of decades ago. It was cool at the time. Now I cringe at the thought.
And do you remember the wallpaper borders that were used across the top of the wall, where it meets the ceiling? Like you really had “books” on a shelf that high? That all matched. I mean, some of those borders were cute in a nursery or child’s room…but if you’re considering that now, just don’t.
But if somebody suggests putting wallpaper in your house, don’t roll your eyes and imagine the worst. Wallpaper is a great design solution for many spaces. And even though trends come and go, don’t count on that ivy vine pattern coming back into style anytime soon.
