What’s your favorite holiday tradition? Bloody Mary’s by the tree? Opening gifts on Christmas Eve? If you don’t really have one, copy one of ours! Over the next few weeks, we will each share our family’s holiday traditions. As a design group, we all have very different backgrounds, and it shows in how we celebrate the season. Whether it’s when you open gifts, what you eat, or even how you decorate, repeating holiday traditions makes this time of year so special. I’ll start the series with my family’s famous Beef Wellington recipe.
Beef Wellington is what my family has for Christmas dinner. We used to have turkey and all the fixin’s, just a repeat of Thanksgiving. It was easy, and we all liked it. I think it was about 20 years ago that my mom made Beef Wellington, just to do something different. My kids LOVED it and now as adults, they look forward to it when they visit my house. It may seem like a ton of work, but believe it or not, it’s much easier to make (and less messy) than stuffing a turkey.
If your family doesn’t have a Christmas Dinner tradition, go ahead and borrow mine! You will be amazed how easy it is to prepare Beef Wellington. And it is so delicious! It’s a pretty rich and filling meal, so that’s another reason we make it just once a year. For me, it wouldn’t feel like Christmas without a nice slice of Beef Wellington to make it special. So whatever you celebrate this time of year, make it Merry with a meal to remember. Yummmmm!
I’ll be back soon ~
