Y’all, 90 days until the end of the year is right. around. the. corner. Can you believe it?! I don’t know about you, but this year has FLOWN by. Which got me thinking about ending the year strong. Why wait until January 1? Why not make design resolutions for today?
Why wait until the first of the year to create resolutions? Every year we vow to lose weight, read more books, eat better, etc. etc. etc. BUT what about our homes? Do you make resolutions related to your house? Your house is your sanctuary. Your castle. It should bring out the best in you and set you up for success.
Here are 3 resolutions you can implement immediately to make your house happier and more efficient:
1. Clear the clutter
Clearing your house of clutter is one of the best (and least expensive) ways to purge the stress in your life. All of us – in different degrees – are guilty of holding on to more than we need. With our holding onto things, it becomes more and more difficult to find the things that actually benefit us. Additionally, clutter makes your house look dated and cramped. Donate those age-old knick knacks and thingamajigs that you’ve carried around for years because…well…just because. It is important to fill your home with things that bring up your energy, make you feel good and inspire you. So, for the remainder of 2018 and into 2019, only buy or add something to your home if meets those criteria.
2. Prepare for guests
