We all like to be overachievers. A long to do list, filled up calendar and meetings up the wazoo can make us feel like we are really getting stuff done. We stress about it, run around in a caffeinated haze, and by the end of the week, we crash (see my REST post). Sometimes we become too exhausted and run-down to enjoy the beauty in our lives.
This week, let’s take a step back and re-prioritize ourselves a bit. Not EVERYTHING needs to be done right now.
As a busy professional, I come in contact with a lot of fascinating and intelligent people, with a lot of fascinating and intelligent ideas, and as amazing as that is, those ideas tend to inspire to-dos. It’s important to remember that although you can do anything, you cannot do everything. The silliest part is, for those of us that are business owners, we torture ourselves with endless to-dos.
Take a step back, breathe, and re-evaluate. What happens if you drop a couple things off your list? Will your business or home crumble? It’s like having 10 high quality channels versus 500 nonsensical ones.
We all think our weeks are too short. There’s never enough time. But, the truth is, if you truly prioritize something, you will make time for it. Be it relationships, friendships, or work. It will happen if you make it happen. Set concrete plans with concrete goals. Don’t sweat the small stuff.
How do you prioritize your work day and life? I’d love to hear. Cheers to a productive week!
XOXO
