It’s Monday! Another great start to another great week! Here is your weekly dose of motivation (it sure tastes better than medicine AND it’s better for you!).
So in last week’s post, I introduced you to the thought:
“Hell on earth would be meeting the person you COULD HAVE become”. And as I have continued to ponder that statement over the past couple of years, I have come to appreciate some of the life experiences I have had, whether by fate or self-created. And have worked to intentionally create the life I want. I’m not done, of course, but I think it is important that we acknowledge that we have the power to create the life we want.
Think about what a miracle life really is. And WHY NOT create one that is big and beautiful?

This quote below by Marianne Williamson is one of my favorites. I think it may resonate more with women than men, because we (women) often tend to play a little “smaller” in order to not make others around us uncomfortable. But isn’t it their problem if “they” aren’t comfortable with the grand scale of life we choose to lead?

I mean, why NOT have a big life? We only get one. So do it up. Eat the cake, wear the shoes, take the vacation, tell somebody you love them, blah blah blah. (Sometimes those magnets with words that you can buy at the Hallmark store get it right.)

My definition of “big” and your definition of “big” as it pertains to creating our respective lives will be different. But if we aren’t pursuing it passionately, or if we tone it down, our dreams won’t come to fruition.

I think a lot of what impacts our decisions and the life we design is who we surround ourselves with. Make sure you’re not being weighed down by people who simply “exist” rather than “live”. And be sure to avoid the ones who try to tear you down to make themselves feel better for not being who they want to be.
Does it take effort to live big? Yes. But you don’t have to accomplish it overnight. And it doesn’t mean going overboard. Maybe “big” is simply adding confetti to a birthday celebration instead of just balloons, or signing up for the dance lessons you always promised you would do AND getting the shoes you want to dance in.
Whatever “it” is, ask yourself what can you do to make it just a little bigger and better? Because putting your unique spin to your own life is what living by design is all about.
