Have you ever had a friend (or maybe YOU) who got all worked up about their upcoming “big” birthday? It doesn’t really matter what number the birthday was, but they were either dreading it or bemoaning turning whatever age they’d be turning? I’ve known a few of these people, and I just wanted to shout “age is just a number!“.
I’m a firm believer that our mind plays tricks on us, especially when it comes to age. We’re told that getting “old” is bad. But what is “old”?
Turning 60? But FEEL like you’re still 45? Great! Turning 40? But FEEL like you’re still in your early 30’s? Rock on! Turning 90 ? But FEEL like you’re still in your 70’s? Yah, baby! You get it.
And why give power to what your actual chronology is? It’s not going to change anything. Well, actually, you’ll age yourself. You will make yourself grow older by thinking you’re old.
And if you feel younger than your age, take advantage of it. Enjoy and apply the lessons you’ve learned. Share the knowledge. Teach and lead others.

Just because you’ve hit X age, doesn’t mean that you can’t keep dreaming and creating a life you love.

Having goals and dreams will continue to keep your mind (and body) active. Having something to look forward to will keep you and your mind focused on the future, rather than the number of years you’ve been walking around on this planet. Having something to look forward to is also an easy way to sneak a little extra happiness into your life too.
