Hi y’all! This is Megan, It’s time for my blog take over! Here is Part III of Michelle Lynne Interiors Group “All I Want For Christmas” series.
It’s that time of year and we all tend to get a little crazy…but a good crazy! There are two types of people: either you are super excited and already have your Christmas tree up and listening to Christmas carols or you tend to keep your blinders on and wait to the absolute last minute to go Christmas shopping. (Not that you don’t care…it just always seems to sneak up on you… every single year). We all have that one person in our lives, maybe we know a few. So I’ve decide to make Christmas shopping a little easier this year (for my loved ones) and instead of saying I don’t want anything for Christmas or I don’t care, I actually made a list of items I truly want for Christmas. (Mom, I hope you’re reading this!)
Since we no longer get to sit on Santa’s lap… (kinda weird at 26 years old, ha)… I’ll share what is on my wish list and maybe it will give you ideas for when you are out shopping for your loved ones. If you need more inspiration or ideas on what to get this year check out my Pinterest page, click here!
Just to give you a little background on me, I love to stay active. I recently joined Camp Gladiator to get back into shape and feel stronger. I was a collegiate athlete when I attended Texas State University and lets just say enough time has passed that I no longer have that body. I played softball practically my whole life and was a catcher from the ages 4 to 22. My knees, as they say, feel like they have aged 20 years ahead of me. My point being, a good pair of running shoes is CRUCIAL!!! I need a shoe that is functional not just fashionable with yoga pants. Even though I have a favorite pair that I can not get enough of. Hint, hint! Under Armour® Women’s ColdGear® Legging
I saw the GEL-NIMBUS 18 LITE-SHOW when I was casually strolling through the fitness store and flirted with the idea that I need new running shoes because I’ve currently ran down my current asics. So of course, I tried them on and all of a sudden it felt like I was walking on clouds. Seriously, fell in love. I even ran around the store…no joke, there were witnesses. Asics are probally my favorite brand of shoe when it comes to longevity and support. This is a great gift for anyone who is striving for those new year resolutions too!
My next item is something that I have not been able to shake. Unlike our lovely Lori Brezovsky, her blog takeover, which talks about striving to live a minimal lifestyle and her goal is to not just buy because its pretty. Well I tend to stray from that theory and want the pretty things too…even if I don’t necessarily need it. Hey, I know I’m not the only one. I saw this fun and super funky runner from Rugs USA on eclectic.leigh Instagram feed and immediately pictured it in my kitchen. It will give my kitchen a hip bohemian / contemporary feel and blend nicely with the rustic vibes in my living room.
Where I currently live, the kitchen and living room is one large open space and I have a weird spot that needs a side table near my sofa. In this area the side table could also double as a bar cart!! I am drawn to this beautifully textured, handwoven rattan bar cart that will look great in any space. This will also be extremely functional for entertaining and it’s the perfect home for my barware + alcohol…what better place for my “favorite” wine (which changes regularly).
P.S. If and when I get tired of the rattan I can always have it painted a high gloss black.
Some of my favorite places for bar cart essentials are Crate & Barrel, World Market, Anthropologie and we can’t forget Target. Also, here is my favorite wine right now, (reds are trending in my houshold currently) give it a taste! Sterling Vineyards Napa Valley, California Cabernet Sauvignon, you can find this in most Spec locations or liquor stores – perfect for adult stocking stuffers and stocking the bar cart.
Those are just a few ideas for Christmas gifts and this wraps up Part III of our All I want for Christmas series. What are some of your wish list items this year or maybe something that you are really wanting to get your loved one? Have fun shopping and we hope you have a great holiday season!!
Soon to come: My family’s Christmas traditions and our favorite dips / appitizers!! In the meantime, feel free to follow me on Instagram @meganparten or by clicking HERE or Pinterest .
