Duke Saxony

Have you heard the phrase, “the cobbler’s children have no shoes?” It refers to skilled professionals being so busy serving others they often neglect their own needs, like a shoemaker whose kids go barefoot. When it was finally time for our lead designer to redesign her own dated 20 year old kitchen she created a classic English inspired space in shades of cream, soft blues and greens. Calacatta Michelangelo marble counters and backsplash create a timeless feel and inset cabinetry, some with brass capping for durability, add to the craftsmanship of the space. The small but functional pantry was drenched in a calming blue that carries through to the living room. Truly an example of “slow design” the living space is layered with meaningful art pieces and objects collected over time. The media cabinet received a makeover with the same inset cabinetry and brass mesh inserts, not to mention a large TV in a playfully and purposefully ornate frame. We call this elevated but oh so livable.

Welcome to Duke Saxony.
