Blending the styles of a newlywed couple to create a home suited to both tastes is a tall order. ML Interiors Group combined two individual's existing home goods and added new pieces to make a beautiful home worth sharing.

Our clients were newlyweds. He has artistic and international taste, while she is more reserved and traditional. Our job was to blend their styles in their newly constructed home in the Lakewood neighborhood of Dallas. Antique doors and reclaimed wood beams added a global vibe to the newness of the construction, while custom free-spirited and tribal patterns dominated the fabric selections to create a cohesive and welcoming style.
Transcending tastes and times, we paired the eclectic collections with two new sofas and added some comfortable cane chairs for plenty of seating. In order to make use of the beautiful and authentic rugs collected during travels, we layered them on top of larger, natural material rugs to create defined spaces. The client already possessed several unique furnishings to integrate into the design, many of which consisted of deep reds with accents of black - which is woven delicately into the color scheme seen throughout the home.
By incorporating several stand-out pieces collected by the homeowners during world travels, personal narrative is allowed to take center stage, encouraging conversation to flow as seamlessly as this design. Adding the authentic Indian swing in the family room delighted our clients, as their courtship began with hours of conversations together on it.
Finalizing the home’s details included using original art created by the Mister’s mother, which was also tastefully considered in the design as the colors also act as a bridge connecting the various elements in the home.
The outcome of this project can be summarized in one word; balance. Evident throughout, balance is what grants this amalgamation of styles to live in this home with purpose - representing the clients as their whole authentic selves and their experiences. The pinnacle of this process was revealed during job completion - as we learned that as this journey came to an end, their journey of growing a family had just begun.
