The exterior color consultation was how this project started. The original color of the stucco was a butter yellow, with tired ivory trim and bright forest green shutters. Choosing a soft white with taupe undertones for the stucco, and pulling a dark brown fascia to compliment the terra cotta roof, and shades of sage to soften the intensity of the contrasting shades. The new color palette feels like a “welcome home” hug. The porch furnishings greet guests and make the home feel inviting, while the pop of a warm turquoise on the back patio brings the playfulness of the pool finishes in line with the new palette.

A quick refresh with a new sectional to hold the entire family of seven, made the Living Room liveable. Updated lighting, backsplash and counters gave new life to the dated kitchen and breakfast nook.
Converting a never-used Formal Dining Room into a Wine Lounge is always a good idea! Highlighting the ceiling with a deep indigo creates a backdrop for the super star chandelier. Comfy swivel seating is a great place to relax with friends, while the expanded wine bar with Sub Zero refrigeration beckons the cocktail connoisseur to create that specialty drink after a long day at the office.
When the bathroom and closet no longer function, parents starting their day on the wrong foot can impact the whole family. Picking up on the original finishes of the bedroom, adding a few touches of organic wallpaper and paint accents, pull the suite together. A total bathroom overhaul, without changing the footprint, brought the bathroom up-to-date, with keeping a touch of vintage with the beloved painting over the new bathtub. Adding a huge dose of “swanky”, the sophistication of the closet would make any A-list celebrity feel pampered.
With their roots in Louisiana, the NOLA-inspired toile wallcovering was perfect for a playful update in the Laundry Room. Starting with a cherry-red washer/dryer, the color palette developed with a base of black and white, with a sunflower yellow ceiling for a touch of whimsy. The pups have a cozy den to relax and hang out while laundry duties are carried out in such a happy place.
Secondary bedrooms and baths are typically put at the bottom of the “todo” list. Not in this family! All bathrooms were updated with unique tile that reflected the personality of each child; however conveyed a timeless look that would grow with each member of the family. New bedrooms were reimagined for the oldest and youngest daughters, as one was going away to college and the other was starting to outgrow her dolls. The color pink rule is queen in both spaces; highlighting each daughter’s interest, personality and age, yet is not juvenile and dated.
Once used as a “catch all” for toys and games, the expanded upstairs kitchen now hosts friends of all ages and gives the kids their own space for snacks and drinks. Fun lighting and textural wallpaper are playful enough for the younger family members, yet make parents part of the fun without feeling like a kid’s only zone. Floating shelves display family treasures and a few special “guests” in portrait.
Who needs Chuck E Cheese when you have an elevated Game Room right outside your door? With acoustic panels keeping the sound in check, and retro video games, the Game Room is a special hangout for friends and family alike. The sophisticated colors are inviting and elevate the former playroom to the most used space in the house!
Deep plum adorns the walls, ceiling and trim in this moody Media Room. Inspired by the vintage poster collection, we infused Louisiana vibes and touches of Mardi Gras with the bold colors of the pillows on the modern motion sofas. Since mom is a self-described “hippy chick” we couldn’t resist adding chartreuse ottomans surrounded with fringe.
