When you get to work with a special client for years, they not only trust you with their home, inside and out, they trust you to make their holiday season extra special and unique.
Flashback time! Our Wild On Park Lane project was a work of love and friendship. We were challenged to incorporate “his” beloved trophies from an African hunting trip, while “her” taste was more contemporary and polished. If you check out the project photos, you can see how this was accomplished.
So how does this translate to holiday decor? It’s all about the TREES! Not only did we complete “re-deck” the halls, we added multiple trees around the house that worked with the newly furnished spaces.
In the Salon (aka, former Formal Dining Room) the Christmas tree is a reflection of the soft muted pastels in the fabrics and art. Shimmering fabrics welcomed in a truly feminine tree, but subtle enough that it did not feel contrived. A touch of navy grounded the glitz. White lights reflect off of shiny ornaments in sage, soft lavender and gold. Ribbons and gold accents make the tree sparkle like a fresh glass of champagne.
Not to be outdone by the Salon, nestled in the corner of the staircase is “his” tree, just below his treasured mounts in the two story foyer. Bringing in organic elements, mixed with touches of black and animal print ornaments,, this Christmas tree pays homage to his favorite pastimes and hobbies.
To feature ornaments handed down by family or collected through the years, we chose to honor these keepsakes with their own “ornament” inspired tree. Yes all trees have ornaments, but when each one has a history, the entire tree pays tribute to the collection. The open branches and white tinsel tree is the perfect place for a display.
Collection trees do not need to make sense; its the whimsy and eclectic look that makes them fabulous.
Don’t forget to literally “deck the halls”
Adding touches of Christmas cheer throughout the home is a perfect reminder that the season is special and a time for good cheer.
We were thrilled to reinvent this special client’s holiday decor. Intentional color palettes to make every space feel special and cohesive, provides an elegant backdrop for parties and family gatherings.
Hiring an interior designer to “renovate” your holiday decor to a new home or color palette, can make a new space feel complete during Christmas time. Having your decor “go” with your home is another way interior designers bring joy to their clients.
