Rooms designed: Living Room, kitchen design & renovation, and bathroom
Location: Keller, Texas
This highly traditional style home belongs to a hip, young couple whose style was anything but traditional. Their project included a kitchen design and full kitchen renovation that included a custom range hood and breaking the oversized island into two. One of the islands was designed opposite the range and intended for cooking and cleaning, including two dishwashers – and the other island had an under-counter bar fridge, ice machine – and comfortable barstools for guests. Around the corner, but also included in the kitchen remodel was a custom coffee bar with a built in coffee and espresso maker for any time of the day. The kitchen materials were traditional, honoring the architecture of the home, while also welcoming the homeowners into a space that felt more like home than a castle.
The family room also received a makeover with a custom wood drop ceiling with a surrounding lighting cove that dropped behind the walls and the new art niches. The traditional corner fireplace was removed and replaced with a linear, contemporary fireplace design and brand new furnishings that reflected the modern vibe of this young couple.. The project was completed with a dramatic black and white powder bath update with brushed gold finishes. Led by Megan Fornes.
