2016 has arrived! I hope your year is off to a great start. With a new year, comes new resolutions and gives us the opportunity to make some positive new changes. Why not start with the place where you begin and end each day, your home? Home is, after all, where the heart is. Your home is meant to be a place of safety, comfort and self expression. Your interior design choices are telling a story. What does your home say about you? Is it currently a reflection of your best self?! The Life-Changing Magic of Tidying Up: The Japanese Art of Decluttering and Organizing is a great book and reference if you are looking to make some fresh changes to simplify and organize your home this new year.
Michelle Lynne Interiors Group specializes in creating glamorously functional homes for the busy professional. We believe that a home should start with function, and then add in the beauty. We design spaces with places for all of your items, so you can hide them in an organized manner – rather than cluttering up your horizontal surfaces. Here are a few examples of our work that showcase how you can still have a beautiful space, reflective of your own personality and style, all while keeping a clean, clutter-free appearance.
Make your bathroom a sanctuary by keeping it free from clutter. His & her vanities with abundant storage and a custom closet provides plenty of room for today’s professional. Simplistic elegance is the look we went for with this beautiful bathroom renovation design.
The kitchen is one of the busiest places in the house, but cleanliness is next to Godliness – right? In order to keep with that theme, we added a few simple pieces for a nice touch of color to this white, modern, University Park kitchen. Otherwise, there is enough cabinet space to store everything except the coffee maker…which is a gorgeous piece of machinery itself. Yes, the spices, toaster, utensils and knives all have a drawer or cabinet of their own!
In my opinion, a clear space is key to be able to focus while working. To maximize this smaller workspace, we installed some custom built-in shelves for our client in McKinney. The shelves provide a versatile option to not only keep supplies off of your desk, but to showcase other decorative items to help personalize your space. There are storage boxes and trays that allow our client to store and access his documents readily, without having to keep everything on the top of the desk. His laptop computer comes and goes with him, so the desk is fully functional.
