We’re defining the lighting types used in interior design. In THIS post last week, we covered Ambient, Natural and Task Lighting. Today we’re wrapping up with Accent and Aesthetic lighting.
Accent lighting is something that emphasizes an area or an object in a room. Accent lighting adds to the DRAMA or STYLE of a room. This silver leaf crystal chandelier from Currey & Company we used in a project last year is a showstopper. Even with that high impact wallpaper behind it, it screams “look at me”, don’t you think? It is one of my all time favorite items. In fact, I love it so much that I have included it in my “Curated Faves” so you can have it too.
Aesthetic Lighting is itself a work of art, like this amazing feature from Aria Electrical. Don’t you think that would make a huge statement upon entering the room? Wow. That is a seriously awesome lighting feature.
So that concludes our lighting types defined…it’s pretty basic information, but pretty important in interior design. If you need design assistance, we create glamorously functional spaces for the busy professional. Please give us a call or click HERE to contact us.
If you’re just interested in the silver leaf chandelier above, you can find that and all sorts of other fabulous-ness HERE.
